My PPL History
Two months after obtaining my glider's licence, I started taking fixed wing, powered flight lessons at the Aéro Club Calédonien.
My instuctor and chief pilot of the club was a very capable man with a lot of professional experience.
He stepped me through all the different stages of the PPL training; take-offs and landings (very different with an engine), navigation (including VOR, ADF, and GPS), plus recovery from stalls and the like. I was released solo after about 7 hours and sat for my PPL flying test 12 months later.
It was a great thrill to be able to take up my Father as my first passenger. Since, most of my family plus colleauges and friends have come flying with me.
It is also exciting to know that my little brother and sister are also following along the same road.
